As far as ragging is concerned, u can rest assured that you wont experience any ragging at Planet-I (the kind associated with Undergrad Colleges). Infact the senior junior hierarchy is not as rigid as what I experienced at IIT. Even the terms 'Senior' and 'Junior' are not so commonly used. The batches are referred to as PGP-1 and PGP-2.
This is because PGP-2 may be senior to PGP-1 in terms of their stay at IIMI, but a lot of PGP-1 guys may have far greater work-experience than most of the PGP-2 guys. Hence, the Senior-Junior culture is not so prominent. This renders Ragging inappropriate.
But the new entrants (no matter how much work-ex they have) need guidance from PGP-2. So, it is important that the two batches get to know each other well as early as possible. While this is taken care of by the ragging period at most Undergrad colleges, at Planet-I the ice is broken by a series of activities that involve interaction between the two batches.
